Hard to describe how idyllic this place is. My husband and I and our two daughters and one daughter’s fiancé shared this lovely waterfront townhouse on Galway’s Long Walk. Every room had a beautiful, relaxing view of the river rushing by, and we woke to the sound of seagulls. Heron’s Rest provides a stocked kitchen so we could make our breakfast at our own pace every morning — eggs, cheeses, sourdough bread, smoked salmon, granola, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, tea, jam, fruit and everything we needed for our three-day stay. We were steps from the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter and also could walk to Salt Hill and other parts of the city. This stay was at the end of our travels around Ireland, and it was the perfect place to relax. We all fell in love with Heron’s Rest and Galway. Read Less
