The Heron’s Rest opened its doors in the summer of 2004 as a small 2-bedroom Bed and Breakfast. Back then we called ourselves boutique because we were so small, rather than very fancy. We still think small is beautiful and holiday accommodation should be intimate and relaxed.

Overtime we have evolved and expanded to offering contactless bed and breakfast style accommodation in three individual townhouse properties, The Heron’s Rest Boutique Town House 16 and Townhouse 16a, and our Courtyard townhouse. Each individual town house thoughtfully designed to provide a relaxed home from home feeling and stocked with a delicious gourmet breakfast hamper provisioned from local produce.

Our ethos is simple: an authentic warm welcome in a relaxed private setting with local natural produce, personalised top local tips, comfortable stylish rooms and direct sea views.

Each individual townhouse house has a fully equipped kitchen and a tastefully presented living area, making it the perfect private base to unwind by the riverside in Galway; suitable for families, groups of pals and the independent traveller.
