The Heron's Rest was absolutely lovely. I have stayed now at several places in Galway and this has been my favorite. We absolutely loved it here. It's a lovely little apartment (bigger than we expected) with a nice kitchen so we could cook for ourselves some nights (it even had a dishwasher, amazing). It's in a larger residential complex, so a fair number of the neighbors are residents. It's extremely close to all the things you might want to do in Galway. There's a washer-dryer in the apartment, too, so we were able to pack more efficiently. I've got nothing bad to say. Read Less

What a gem. We stayed in the herons rest while visiting Galway for a gig. The location was perfect for visiting Galway, just a couple of minutes from the Spanish arch. Sorcha and Maggie really looked after us, great communication and the place is beautiful and so clean with everything we needed. Right on the river too, great view to wake up to. The breakfast hamper was a real treat and full of lovely cheese, ham, smoked salmon, muesli and fresh bread plus more. Fresh eggs for breakfast too. It was very welcome after a late night. Highly recommend this to anyone. It's a quality place and deserves all the praise it gets. Plus, they planted a native Irish tree for our stay, that was a nice bonus. Thanks Sorcha. Read Less
